It would be nice if you could overlay tidal graphs from two stations with the secondary one translucent (or just a line) over the primary one. I realize that this produces all kinds of interface problems, but if you limit text/calendar screens to the primary station only i think it would work. The clock screen could also display a transparent outline for the secondary station. It would also be interesting to overlay a current station on a tide station.

Very stupid question?

So I've downloaded Mr Tides 3, release 16. It works fine, except that it *only* appears to show currents, not tides. Am I missing something? I'm trying to look at Raccoon Straight, in the San Francisco bay area, but I've tried other stations, too, and I can never get tide data to show up, just currents.

Add FR locations for Arcachon area?

I just downloaded your great software and I wonder if you can add the Cap-Ferret and Arcachon stations to your database?

Both are located in the middle of the coastline of the Bay of Biscay which is almost a blank zone on the map.

Cap Ferret is the tip of the cape outside the the Arcachon Bay. Inside the Arcachon Bay -- "Bassin d'Arcachon" -- there is the city of Arcachon where the tide is delayed compared to Cap Ferret because of the smallness of the entry way for the waters (the infamous "passes du Bassin d'Arcachon" that killed many a sailor).

You can find the data here (multilingual website) :

Cap-Ferret
http://maree.frbateaux.net/135?g=4

Arcachon
http://maree.frbateaux.net/136

Their data are taken from the official SHOM French government site:

http://www.shom.fr/ann_marees/cgi-bin/pre dit_ext/c...

The frbateaux.net people have developed a widget but not one as accurate and precise as your software (good for surfers and swimmers, less for sailors as it does not mention water heights, essential when you want to enter or exit the "passes")

Thanks in advance for what you can do in that respect,
Still haven't figured if I leap forward or backwards

I need to get a tow tomorrow, and currents will be critical. Today is daylight savings time, tomorrow is not. So... If I TODAY look at currents in Mr. Tides for TOMORROW (specifically Limestone Point) is the slack tide time shown for tomorrow standard or daylight time? My Mac's clock, of course, is showing daylight today but will switch to standard time tomorrow...
I currently access tide data on my iphone using safari - which is fine if I have internet access... Would love therefore to switch to Ayetides. However the nearest tide date in Mr Tides is Newlyn - a commercial fishing port with no sailors. Is there any chance that Falmouth data could be added to Mr Tides/Aye Tides?
I'm still in the process of getting approved by Apple for the Developer program, but the website is up at http://www.ayetides.com/ so you can see what the app looks like. I wrote the site using iWeb so it's a little funky, sorry about that.

As soon as I get approved by Apple and get a chance to test it on a real iPhone and not just the simulator, I'll be sending it to Apple for the App Store. I'm thinking of pricing it around $14.99.
As for the name, I'm thinking 1/3 will go "huh?", 1/3 will laugh, and 1/3 will groan at the pun

Current Arrows and Tide Trends

I've been working on adding current vectors to the Maps in Mr. Tides. Here's what I've got so far. It takes a while (1 - 2 seconds) on my intel iMac (2 GHz) to come up with all the vectors, and I'm looking at what needs to be accelerated. I also want to animate this so that you can see the changes as time goes by, but that's for later on.

I've also added tide trends. The red dots are falling tides, the blue dots are rising tides. I'm still working on this part, it's very much a work in progress at this time.
