The main new feature is compatibility with the Australian Hydrographic Service's Seafarer RNC charts, the official raster charts of Australian waters. Both the 'Chart' and 'Update' services are supported. Four Seafarer charts have also been added to the demo charts collection.

I also finally 'got round to' implementing a feature requested by one of this site's users, namely that when the chart is set to scroll with the boat you can now drag the chart to put the boat wherever you like in the window (ie, it doesn't have to be centred). Thanks Ron!

A more obscure feature that might interest the real blue water sailors is that you can now input a manual datum shift if you want to plot your track using GPS on one of the few charts that doesn't have built in shift information for adjusting to/from WGS84.

There are also improvements to chart loading procedures and the Chart Manager interface, plus various more minor improvements and, of course, bug fixes.

As ever, it can be downloaded via http://www.windvector.com/passageplus/downloads .ht... or using the Check for Updates function in PassagePlus.

Good sailing
The entire collection of NZMariner charts (161 charts), which was previously available on CD very cheaply, is now available free of charge. The chart CD contents and also the monthly update CD contents can be downloaded here: http://www.hydro.linz.govt.nz/charts/raster-navcha...
The forthcoming version of PassagePlus will allow you to install charts directly from the downloaded folder. The current version (v1.5.0) assumes that CDs will be used. So to take advantage of this price in the meantime you need to burn the downloaded files to CD. Just unzip the download and then drag all the CONTENTS of the folder (NOT the folder itself) to a blank CD and burn it.

Regenerate RSS

Regenerate RSS Please ignore
