| Confused on RADAR w/MacENC and GPS navX |

I understand that radar will integrate.....but what does this "integration" mean?........I read in another post that the software won't "plot the scan". Please explain in terms a newbie to radar will understand. I am trying to research building a system based on my MAC and want to buy the Mac ENC or GPS navX software. What will it do and what won't it do? Will navX and ENC both work with radar or just one of them?

When MacENC or GPSNavX is purchased, it may be installed on as many of the purchasers Macs as they like. If prompted for an activation code just email gpsnavx at mac dot com for a code. We don't believe its fair to charge for multiple installations or for software updates.

Are there any plans for integrating the Koden Radar PC product to do Radar overlay in MacENC? Radar overlay really seems to be the only thing missing from many computer based solutions vs the proprietary route.

Am realizing I may need a new laptop before departing offshore, and am looking at both Macbooks and MacbookPros, 13", with 4gb ram, the ram being one of the big drivers over my current Macbook with a max of 2gb.
Am confused a bit about the benefit of processor speed, though. The 'about this mac' on my current laptop gives the processor as 2.4 ghz core 2 duo, while the newest Macbook is only 2.26GHz, Core 2 Duo, and the Pro is either the same or 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo. That doesn't seem much difference in process speed between what I have and my two options (don't want larger than 13"). Would I really see much difference because of the processors or will the added ram have the greatest impact? I'm also surprised that the latest Macbooks have a slower processer than their predecessors.

Now that I finally got my large list of South Pacific waypoints imported, I would like to add icons for them. Right now it appears that they must be updated individually, a rather tedious task. Is there any way to select groups and change all at once? Many are either uncharted hazards or anchorages. Or, could the icon type be added to the file prior to importing?

| Updating CHS Charts through X-Traverse |

I run Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) Digital Charts, purchased through www.X-Traverse.com on my laptop with MacENC. I received a notice from X-Traverse that my charts should be updated. I can not find info at their site on how to download updates with MacENC. I wonder if anyone knows how I might do this?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Don
