  E80 Interface
Posted by: Jeffc - January 12, 2012 11:26 - Forum: Navionics Marine for iPhone - Replies (4)

I'm trying to clarify the specific hardware and software necessary to integrate my iPad (with the Navionics app) and a Raymarine E80. If that is already documented somewhere on this forum, please supply a link.

Otherwise:

1) Does Navionics process the Seatalk data directly or does it need something like iMux to do a Seatalk to NMEA conversion for it?

2) Is there any other hardware or software required in order to upload/download routes and waypoints to the E80?

3) What is the purpose of the Plotter Sync app?

4) Does the Navionics app, alone or with Plotter Sync, provide a real-time instrument repeater function?

Navionics feature comparison between OSX & iOS
Posted by: ginginsman - January 10, 2012 13:49 - Forum: MacENC & GPSNavX - Replies (5)

X-Traverse tells me that the Navionics versions for the iPad do not support the full feature set available when using Navionics with OSX.

Is this accurate?

Is there a comparison of the differences available somewhere?

  Chart Datum
Posted by: MacMan - January 7, 2012 16:47 - Forum: Mr. Tides - Replies (5)

Just a while ago I decided to try Mr.Tides. The program seems to work pretty well, alas, it us useles to me right now. To be able to use the shown height, one should know the chart datum, the plane from where these heigts are measured. There is LAT (lowest astronomical tide) NAP Nieuw Amsterdams Peil ect. Wich one is Mr.Tides using? I couldn't find it anywhere and without knowing the chart datum the results are no good to me. I would humbly suggest that the chart datum should be shown alongside the heights.

  iNavX and xGPS150
Posted by: epilot10 - January 6, 2012 10:23 - Forum: iNavX - Replies (3)

Maybe someone can help me :
I have iNavX on my IPod Touch v5.0.1 and
I have a xGPS150 from Dual.
This GPS works in 2 modes: PC or MAC
It says in the pub that it is compatible with INavX. I have been trying to use it with INavX but without result.
In the instruments window, under position, I have CON: I have "Non"INavX tells me to turn on "localisation". I don't want to use localisation with cellphones towers but with my gps. Do I have do change other settings, Bluetooth, etc..
The app. from Dual: Status Tool, works fine. I suppose it has to be "off" when I use iNavX, since it is a Bluetooth thing? Or am I wrong.

Thanks for any help

Posted by: collin.harty - January 4, 2012 11:23 - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Just stumbled into a little device called the Twine Box via a Wired gaget blog . If you have wifi available at your mooring or dock, it could prove a cost effective way to set up remote monitoring system.
