Navionics for MacENC vs. iPad Navionics
Posted by: simmsdp - December 4, 2011 23:29 - Forum: MacENC & GPSNavX - Replies (5)

I have just added a new iPad2 as a chart plotter in the cockpit. The Mac with MacENC is down at the Navigators station. I came into the bay at Tenacatitia, Mexico yesterday and I noticed that the MacENC Navionics charts are off by 1/2 mile where as the iPad Navionics charts were spot on. Our buddy boat has a Raymarine chart plotter with Navionics charts and they didn't see an error.

What is up with the difference? I have the latest versions from XTravers.

Best.

instrument panel display on chart screen
Posted by: larryinvictoria - November 30, 2011 19:11 - Forum: iNavX - Replies (3)

Although deeply afraid that this may be a stupid question, how do I keep the instrument panel displayed at the top of the screen? It's been there sometimes but then seems to disappear. Can't figure out how to bring it back.

Sea map software for planning only
Posted by: lebch - November 25, 2011 03:39 - Forum: MacENC & GPSNavX - Replies (3)

Hi

I'm looking for a in price affordable software to do sailing trip planing on my MacBook with SnowLoepard. So I don't want navigate with my laptop on the boat.

Does MacENC and/or GPSNacX run without GPS signal? Can I use it offline at home?

Any other recommendation to have sea maps on OS X?

Thanks for any hints

Richard

  Export Sights from Celestial
Posted by: samoore - November 22, 2011 06:22 - Forum: Navimatics - Replies (3)

Hi, We just completed a trip and used Celestial. I really like the product. I would like to know if there is a way to export all might sights to a CSV file so that they can be shared easily in a celestial navigation class?
Other than delete, I don't see an easy way to export the data.
Optimally, export to text, csv, via email, or file.

Thanks,
Sam Moore

Navionics Charts from old computer to new computer
Posted by: Bluebossa - November 16, 2011 21:07 - Forum: MacENC & GPSNavX - Replies (1)

I have changed computers to get a bigger screen for navigation. I transferred the MacENC application and have successfully activated it, but now I need to transfer my Navionics charts from my old computer to my new? According to an advisor at MacENC, I need to download it and macsailing could show me the way. Can someone clue me in on how to get this done - how can I avoid paying twice the charts that I downloaded earlier this year from X-Traverse? These are the British Columbia and SE Alaska charts which are not NOAA.

I appreciate any help that I can get - Thanks!
