WPs on CF card to Raymarine C90
Posted by: Eclipsemullet - June 7, 2010 04:43 - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I have downloaded some WPs of the internet that I have copied to a CF card and want to transfer to our Raymarine C90.

The C90 cant 'see' any of the files. What format do they need to be in?

  Track recording limits?
Posted by: cdeiss - June 5, 2010 09:28 - Forum: iNavX - Replies (1)

I just finished a delivery down the coast and I was bummed to find that the tracks recorded by iNaxV on my iPad were incomplete.

iNavX was running for almost the entire 600+ mi trip, providing a fix and chart views, but I only got a couple of discontinuous tracks totaling only about 60-70 miles.

Was I doing something wrong? Is iNavX capable of recording the full track of a multi-day, several hundred mile course? The iPad has 64G of memory, and was never close to full.

Thanks!

  Video demonstrations
Posted by: brak - June 4, 2010 17:10 - Forum: PolarNavy - No Replies

It's been quite here - so I am re-posting this from another forum. I've got a few video demonstrations of basic PolarView functionality. Don't pay much attention to video quality - there is no sound because, frankly, I am not great at video editing Smile

Where is the COURSE UP option?
Posted by: Houseboats - June 2, 2010 13:04 - Forum: iNavX - Replies (11)

Good day, I have iNavX with my iPhone 3G and use it often, as it is a great program.

The only problem that I have found is where is the option to use COURSE UP option, as the size of the screen really calls for this?

Many other navigation programs have this option, and I have been waiting for over a year for this to be introduced.

I am looking forward to any comments or insights into this.

Thanks, IAN

Ipad as a slave screen on deck
Posted by: Riener - June 1, 2010 11:29 - Forum: iPad - Replies (13)

The owner of the boat(Farr 40) where I race on just bought an Ipad.
Is it possible to use the Ipad on deck for the navigator as a 'slave screen'(like a Toughbook) connected to a Windows laptop downstairs running Expedition or Adrena?

There probably is no possibility to run any racing software directly on the Ipad?

We only do windward-leeward races in the Med, would Sailtimer be enough for us?

  Transfer to Raymarine C90
Posted by: Eclipsemullet - May 31, 2010 05:51 - Forum: MacENC & GPSNavX - Replies (2)

I had my first go at transfering to our Raymarine C90, without success I think. Wink

1. MacENC is obtaining a postion from the C90.

2. When I try and transfer a route to the C90, MacENC says 'Transfer Complete' but I cant find the route (or any associated waypoints) on the C90.

What am I doing wrong?

Transferring Waypoints/Routes/Tracks between GPSNavX and MacENC
Posted by: GPSNavX - May 30, 2010 08:30 - Forum: Tips and Tricks - No Replies

Waypoints/Routes/Tracks can be exchanged between GPSNavX and MacENC. There are two ways to exchange:

1) Within MacENC and GPSNavX. Use the "Transfer" "To GPX File..." on the respective "Waypoints/Routes/Tracks" menu to export and then "From File" on same menus to import.

2) Quit MacENC and GPSNavX. Copy the data files specific to Waypoints/Routes/Tracks. Both MacENC and GPSNavX share the same file formats for Waypoints/Routes/Tracks. For example copy GPSNavXWaypoints.plist to MacENCWaypoints.plist

  Using iMac on board?
Posted by: timj43 - May 29, 2010 22:47 - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I would like to use my iMac 24inch (intel) iMac on board our power yacht.

Is it possible to power the iMac via a car charger type source from 12volt batteries?

Not sure what the voltage requirement is for this iMac?

  New MacENC installation
Posted by: 206giff - May 29, 2010 14:30 - Forum: MacENC & GPSNavX - Replies (11)

Have been original MaxSea user with OS 9 for 10 years. Have resisted upgrading (if it aint broke, don't fix it), but now it's time. Should I expect any problems making MacENC work with this combination?
-GARMIN 492 GPSMap
-Belkin Serial (to USB) Adapter for Mac
-RayMarine E85001 Interface box
-AutoHelm AH7000 autopilot and instruments
-PowerBook G4
Can I couple my autopilot to follow a TRACK established in MacENC?

Thanks for your advice.
