US NOAA update in the Marine GeoGarage

Has anyone used any of the Anchor alarm apps? Which ones, any thoughts on the best, most reliable.

There may be some cases where an update to iOS 5 will not restore the charts downloaded into iNavX. In this case the charts should be downloaded again. a WiFi connection is recommended.

To restore any NOAA charts: Select any NOAA region from the main menu, then select the Recent filter (looks like a clock), then select "Update Charts".

To restore any charts from X-Traverse (i.e. Navionics, NV-Verlag, Soltek, etc.): Select any non NOAA region from the main menu, then select "Update Chart List", then select a chart, then select download all.

I got a Dual XGPS 150 for my ipad (no gps/3G) and iphone. They work great with iNavx on these platforms. I have tried using the Dual gps with my macbook pro running OSX Lion and I can't seem to get them to connect. I am currently running the trial version of MacEnc. If I can get this to work then I will download the full program. Has anyone else done this?

Will a properly wired and configured MiniPlex-BT be able to communicate directly with an iPad2 over Bluetooth running iNavX without an intermediary computer running MacENC?

Hi all.

I just downloaded the demo version of PolarView (Mac) and PolarCom. I am using a serial (USB) GPS antenna connected to my Macbook, running OSX 10.5.8 with 2 GB of RAM.

PolarCom boots to a small, blank screen in the upper left of my monitor. PolarView looks interesting, but I have no current location indicator. I also cannot find any way to see if the program is reading my GPS antenna.

Do I have the "wrong" software or something?

The Brookhouse iMux can be connected to a Mac and MacENC two ways:

WiFi

1) Power up Brookhouse iMux and interfaced GPS, Instruments, AIS.

2) From the Airport menu on the upper right hand side of the Mac menu bar select "Broohouse_iMux".

Notes: The iMux only allows one WiFi connection at a time. When a Mac is connected to the iMux, it will not be connected to the internet (i.e. no email or web browsing).

3) Launch MacENC.

4) Select "TCP/IP" from the "GPS" menu.

5) In the "Client (Receive NMEA Data)" select Host: 169.254.1.1 Port: 2000 Mode: TCP
Note: MK3 models use Host: 192.168.1.99 Host: 10110 Mode: TCP

6) Select "Enable" to make the connection.

7) Select "Connect" on the "GPS" menu. Ignore any warning about failing to connect.

8) Select "Settings" button to open the Settings drawer.

9) Select Type: IP Only.

If AIS and/or Instruments are interfaced to the iMux, in the respective AIS and Instruments panel Settings drawer be sure to check "Use GPS Port".


USB Recommended, as it leaves the iMux WiFi connection available for iNavX on iPhone/iPad/iPod

1) Connect a USB Data cable to the iMux RS232 port. Black wire to [G] and Yellow wire to [T]. Do not connect USB data cable to Mac at this point.

3) Restart Mac.

4) Connect USB data cable to Mac USB port.

5) Power up Brookhouse iMux and interfaced GPS, Instruments, AIS.

6) Launch MacENC.

7) Select "Connect" on the "GPS" menu. Ignore any warning about failing to connect.

8) Select "Settings" button to open the Settings drawer.

9) Select Type: Other Port: USBSerial-XXXX Rate 38,400. Note: OS X 10.9 and later users use Rate: 115,200

If AIS and/or Instruments are interfaced to the iMux, in the respective AIS and Instruments panel Settings drawer be sure to check "Use GPS Port".

Can you share any more info on "If Global Marine Networks XGate or Iridium AxcessPoint app is installed, then "XGate" in "GRIB Parameters" will allow the XGate or AxcessPoint app to be used for requesting and receiving the GRIB forecast."?

I have ordered an Iridium Axcess point wi-fi box from GMN.
I looked through the iTunes store and couldn't find the "app". I also looked through GMN web page and couldn't find anything. Can you share any more info? I pulled one of their GRIB files, a BZ2 extension.... decompressed it, and couldn't find a way for iNavX to get the file. the file type didn't seem to be recognized.

Just trying to gear up my iPad for the Caribbean 1500.

I had an update for my iPad last night. I saw that iNavX was upgraded to 3.3.1.

I'm looking for a list of changes from 3.3.0 to 3.3.1.
Is there a chance we could get them posted here?
