MacENC and radar

I'm new to MacENC and as yet don't have radar on the boat. Is there anywhere I can find details of what to expect from a MacENC-radar connection. For example is there a way to have the radar display overlay on the MacENC chart?
Thanks

Beta testers wanted for NMEA<->USB interface

Hi all,
I am looking for some beta testers (~5) for a piece of kit I have developed.
It is called the econav. It's a NMEA multiplexer with a GPS routing engine built-in. This allows you to suspend your computer, while the econav (having received the RMB sentences from the computer, and still receiving RMC sentences from the GPS) can carry on and direct you to your waypoint. As soon as you reach it (or steer off course), the computer will be woken up over USB, so it can take over again.
Additional features:
- automatic prioritization (e.g., for backup GPS)
- wakeup on AIS proximity
- Seatalk conversion
- no driver needed (uses USB CDC/ACM emulation)
I would like to give away 5 of these units, in the hope to get some feedback.
Please reply to this topic if you're interested, add some info about your setup as well!
Cheers,
Ard.

NX2 Server connection

I'm new here and converting from a windoze/toughbook/rose point system to a Mac mini/MacENC system. My instruments are a Nexus system. I now have a longer (~20ft) run from the NX2 server to the mini and am trying to figure out the best wiring: I believe RS232 can tolerates longer runs than USB but the cables are harder to come by whereas USB are abundant. On the other hand the DB9 connectors are more of a pain to pass through bulkheads, etc. So is it best to go:
1) NX2 RS232 out->USB-serial converter -> USB extension cable -> mini
or
2) NX2 RS232 out ->DB9 cable for majority of distance ->USB-serial converter -> mini +/- a short USB extender?
Is it unrealistic to expect no signal degradation problems over this distance?
Thanks
Pat

Hi!
I intend to buy iNavx but before I'd like to be sure that it will work on my iPad (which is a WiFi only, not 3G with integrated GPS) with an external GPS via Bluetooth with BTstack (or RoqyBT).
Has anyone tried iNavx in this context?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Ipad 2, just bought inavx and went and signed up and purchased navionics canada chart from x traverse. When I try to get the chart list, I get import failed. Wifi is good, nothing else is going on in the ipad, and I tried re-synching w/ itunes. Any other tips?
Thanks!
