US NOAA update in the Marine GeoGarage

Hello everyone,

I introduce myself, Julien Fournier, and I work for the firm Trimaran (http://www.trimaran.com), a company specialized in CGI animation for television, film and sports events.

Recently Trimaran has launched an application called GeoRacing, a complete tracking solution and 3D visualization of outdoor sports competition (sailing being currently the only sport we follow).
This is possible thanks to the 3D reconstruction of places of competitions (geographical data like Google Earth) and competitors themselves (model boats).

GeoRacing allow you to follow all the major races of the season :

- ISAF World Cup Events (SOF, Delta Lloyd Regata, Kieler Woche...)
- 470 Worlds
- RC 44 Austria Cup

You can follow these events live on big screen, smartphones, or watch a replay whenever you want.
In addition, GeoRacing is a complete application, which offer you a full race tracking :

- Start line
- Ranking at mark, at gate and at finish line
- Intermediate ranking in C.M.G.
- Information about speed and heading
- Traces of boats

I installed the trail version of Polar View and tried to use the enc charts which I normally run on MacEnc.( I use MacOsx 10.6.7 and the Enc folder is stored on my admins folder)
I follwed the the user guide, opening the chart manager, pressing "add Directory" and ok. I saw the downloading process, but nothing appeared in the chartmagager.

What did I do wrong. Could anybody helpt me with a step by step instruction?

And I also don't know, how to connect to my Gps Bu-353 in order to use this app for real navigation. I also do need an step by step instruction in this respect.

Any news on whether MacENC will be able to import TideTech tidal stream GRIBS?

Since we can now capture Google harbor pictures as BSBs with ChartAid (Windows) and display them on MacENC (I have tried it and it works), it would be nice if we could adjust the transparency of the raster image so that the underlying ENC shows thru.

I just bought iNavx. I am strugling with the import of routes. I do have an x-traverse account.

Good morning! I have installed iNavX software and Navionics charts on my ipad2. Love the functionality, it works well! I have a major problem seeing the charts when I have installed the iPad in our boat (I'm using a RAM mount with a 4 ½ inch Wood's suction attachment). I have a major glare problem and have a lot of trouble attempting to read the screen; no matter what angle it is on. Aside from this being a pain it is a safety issue as you need to look away from what is happening around you for an extended period (I could read my Raymarine colour chart plotter at a glance on our old boat). Does anyone recommend an effective anti-glare screen to use with the iPad2?

Navionics now has an online store. I bought the Chart Viewer and one chart (required) for 29 euros. The chart viewer is primitive and runs on only one machine (the one you downloaded to). You cannot connect a GPS or do anything but planning.

The Installer also has an option to update data on CF cards using the Navionics Card Reader. My version could not recognize my Card Reader on a newish Mac Mini. I am also running a Parallels VM with Windows 7. The Windows Chart Installer couldn't recognize the Card Reader either.

I wrote to Navionics.

BTW, Navionics chart 35 (Japan& Korea, they say) actually covers the S China Sea (Taiwan, the Phils, VietNam, S China & N. Borneo) also.

Is there a method to transfer waypoints and routes from a Garmin 76 to the iNavX(iPad)and reverse using a PC or directly?

Hello,
one has to be careful ordering worldchart Encs. They may be uncomplete. I ordered chart 1/03009 Southern Adriatic Sea and must find out that there were lacking all terrestrial informations. No island names, no city names , ...nothing.
After complaining I got the answer, that this mistake shall be corrected this spring. Now we have summer and there is no correction at all. So I paid the full price for charts which are not complete at all.

So be careful
