I notice that the choices of viewing waypoints are, ALL, Route, None.

Would it be possible to include a selection that will only show waypoints that are NOT associated with routes, while hiding those that are part of a route.

I have a few routes and I also have individual waypoints that I use more often, it would be great to be able to display only those while I am not using any routes.

Can't see anyone using it in USA yet...

It's clever because it takes two fixes, one for anchor point and one for stern and then calculates the safe area through the boat can move

The SailTimer Wind Vane is compatible with MacENC.

1) Connect to the SailTimer Wind Vane by using the Airport menu in the upper right hand corner of the menu. The selection will be "SailTimerWindVane.com".

2) Launch MacENC.

3) Select "TCP/IP" from the "GPS" menu.

4) Select "UDP" for Mode.

5) Enter Port: 55554

6) Select "Enable".

7) Select "Preferences" from the "MacENC" menu.

8) Set "Wind" to "Apparent" in the "Instruments" section.

9) Select "Connect" on the "Instruments" panel.

If all is working "AWA:" and "AWS:" will be displayed in the "Instruments" panel.

I have used a SCS Pactor III modem and Airmail software on my boat for many, many years....to access Sailmail and Winlink networks.

Never tried Winmor and RMS Express yet but that is on my short list for later this summer.

But having said that an iPad is one handy device on boats....

An application to run Winmor and Pactor from an iPad I would think to be a very, very handy item!

Anyone aware of efforts along these lines?

And I would think an Apple OSX application is logical also?

The SailTimer tacking calculations have been used in MacENC since 2006. To allow the optimal tacks to be updated as the wind changes, SailTimer Inc. has now produced a new wireless, solar-powered Wind Vane.

The SailTimer Wind Vane is unique in sending wind speed and direction by wifi to an iPad/iPhone/iPod. The wind data is sent in industry-standard NMEA format. Special arrangements have been made so that even before the Wind Vanes were out of the factory, the set-up procedure has been included in the iNavX User's Guide.

Although ordering is not officially announced on www.SailTimerWindVane.com yet, there are advance units in stock that can be ordered online here by iNavX users.

Because it is wireless, there are no wires to run down the mast or through the boat, which makes it easy to install. It also comes with a U-bolt that allows easy attachment to a stanchion or stern rail, until the masthead is accessible. The vane is solar-powered, so you just attach it to the stanchion or mast and it's ready to use.

The App Mountain Lion tester shows, that the drivers for BU-353 ans BT-359 will not work with the new OSX. Does somebody know whether there will be new drivers available in time with the launch?

It would be great to have the option of zooming out further than the chart page borders in all modes, to be able to use the waypoint and bearing functions without having to fight against the borders snapping back to get to points near the edge of the chart. For example, I can't easily check the distance from one end of a landscape oriented chart to another in the iPad's portrait mode, or see an entire chart at once for a broad overview or for route planning.

I saw this free educational application for kids at the Apple App Store. The name of the app was Maddie and Matt's A to Z's of Good Manners and Values. I highly recommend the app since its features are especially designed to motivate the minds of a child. Through the app, kids will experience the fun and easy way of learning.

My position icon is a circle. I believe in an older version is it was a triangle or arrowhead shape. I have looked but can't seem to find how to change this. Is there a way to change from the circle to the arrowhead?

It would be great to have AIS targets marked on the map which are within a CPA threshold value.
Targets which are within a TCPA threshold value could sound an alarm.
I just returned from a trip crossing the north sea to great brittain from the Netherlands on which I used iNavX exclusively. On the way back thick fog for 12 hours. INavX with iAIS was really great!
