Thanks for a great App.

However, I wonder if it's possible to export waypoints and routes via a WiFi interface, such as iMux or 2Wi, through its NMEA connection to a chartplotter? If not, that is my first improvement suggestion.

Secondly, is there any possibility to export several (all or selected) routes at once? Today, I can only export one at a time to x-traverse. I have 140+ routes.That causes a lot of tapping back and forth today... My second suggestion: Why not having the export option in the routes section as well where you can make a multiple/all selection to export?

Exporting waypoints and routes from iNavX to my Raymarine chartplotter is a huge effort today. First, I export waypoints to x-traverse and then each route, one by one. Secondly, I need to have a PC (who wants that if you are sold on iThings?) with the RayTech Planner software and a Navionics card reader. Thirdly, I need to convert the x-traverse files, one by one, in a file conversion utility before uploading in RayTech. Fourth, I save each file to a CF card. Fifth, I enter the CF card in my chartplotter and upload the waypoints and routes, praying that everything goes well. Couldn't life be much easier...? (see suggestion one above)

I am considering adding iNavX to my iPad and wanted to integrate it with my existing NMEA2000/0183 network.

Today I have the following:

MercMonitor - NMEA2000/0183 gateway for engine data (allows me to put engine data for my Mercruiser engine into NMEA2000/0183 formats)

Lowrance HDS-10 - Chartplotter that will input/output NMEA2000 data onto the bus.

Standard Horizon 2150 - VHF with AIS Receiver that sends AIS data to the Chartplotter.

If I installed the SeaSmart WiFi unit and iNavX would I be able to combine the AIS, Engine and Lowrance data (depth etc...) onto my iPad? I'm in need of a second helm station (2 helms) so this might be a lower cost, more flexible solution to install.

Since upgrading to 10.6 my Haicom 408BT bluetooth GPS randomly looses connection from Macenc and I have to delete and reinstall to get it working again. Any ideas?

AyeTides has been updated to version 2.0.0. Biggest change was the addition of more current stations in the US courtesy of new NOAA harmonics, but alas we lost two big stations: Boston Harbor (currents), and Delaware Bay Entrance (currents). NOAA has changed these from the standard harmonics-predicatable reciprocating currents to non-harmonic rotary currents, and I can't match the NOAA predictions with the data I have. So I decided to pull these two stations, and all the secondary stations that come from them, resulting in the loss of many stations. I had thought about leaving the stations in and flagging them as unreliable, but a tugboat captain told me that made the entire app unreliable, so I decided that pulling them was the best course. It did not take long for this to be noticed

The other changes were a bug fix for iOS 5 crashing when viewing help, and a very rare bug that caused the app to crash on launch.

On my sailing boat I have a Raymarine system: E90W, E70 instruments, E70 autopilot driver and Raymarine radar, all interconnected with a Seatalk cable. A MiniPlex-2Wi multiplexer. And a Mac Air laptop with MacEnc software.
Can you tell me step by step how to make the connections and configure all this staff together? Thank you

1) Launch "Settings" app for iDevice home screen.

2) Select "General".

3) Select "About".

"Model" will will provide model # which you can google for to determine exactly what it is.

"Version" will display the iOS version.

The ShipModul MiniPlex-2Wi can be connected to a Mac and MacENC two ways:

WiFi

1) Power up MiniPlex-2Wi and interfaced GPS, Instruments, AIS.

2) From the Airport menu on the upper right hand side of the Mac menu bar select "MiniPlex-2Wi:xx:xx".

Notes: The MiniPlex-2Wi only allows one WiFi connection at a time. When a Mac is connected to the MiniPlex-2Wi , it will not be connected to the internet (i.e. no email or web browsing).

3) Launch MacENC.

4) Select "TCP/IP" from the "GPS" menu.

5) In the "Client (Receive NMEA Data)" select Host: 169.254.1.1 Port: 10110 Mode: TCP
Note: Versions 3.17 and later use Host: 10.0.0.1

6) Select "Enable" to make the connection.

7) Select "Connect" on the "GPS" menu. Ignore any warning about failing to connect.

8) Select "Settings" button to open the Settings drawer.

9) Select Type: IP Only.

If AIS and/or Instruments are interfaced to the MiniPlex-2Wi, in the respective AIS and Instruments panel Settings drawer be sure to check "Use GPS Port".


USB Recommended, as it leaves the MiniPlex-2Wi WiFi connection available for iNavX on iPhone/iPad/iPod

1) Quit MacENC, disconnect the MiniPlex-2Wi

2) Download AND Install the FTDI driver as linked here ..

3) Restart Mac.

4) Connect USB data cable to Mac USB port.

5) Power up BMiniPlex-2Wi and interfaced GPS, Instruments, AIS.

6) Launch MacENC.

7) Select "Connect" on the "GPS" menu. Ignore any warning about failing to connect.

8) Select "Settings" button to open the Settings drawer.

9) Select Type: Other Port: USBSerial-XXXX Rate 4,800. Note: OS X 10.9 users use Rate 115,200

If AIS and/or Instruments are interfaced to the MiniPlex-2Wi, in the respective AIS and Instruments panel Settings drawer be sure to check "Use GPS Port".
